Underground mining environments are harsh and dangerous, and demand high safety standards.

THE SOLUTION

Being F1 rated, our cast resin dry type transformers fully meet the safety demands of underground mining. They are housed in an IP54 rated substation which protects the equipment against limited dust ingress, harmful deposits, and water splashed from any direction.

Additionally, our client requested a custom electrical interlocking system which adds an additional layer of safety and security by restricting access to live electrical equipment and only permitting key holders to open the substation.
